Connect tiwaa.io

WhatsApp Bulk & Notify sends every message through tiwaa.io. Connect your WhatsApp number once in tiwaa.io, then paste a developer API key into this app.

Connect WhatsApp in tiwaa.io

Sign in at tiwaa.io and connect your WhatsApp Business number from the dashboard.

Create a developer API key

Open Developers in the tiwaa.io dashboard and click Create API Key. Copy the API key (starts with ak_) and API secret (starts with sk_).

Paste them into Settings

In this app open Settings, paste both values and click Save & Connect. The app checks the key and shows whether your WhatsApp number is connected.

Keep your API secret private. Anyone with the key and secret can send messages from your tiwaa.io account. If it leaks, deactivate the key in tiwaa.io and create a new one.

Message Templates

Notifications use WhatsApp templates approved in your tiwaa.io account. Create and submit templates in tiwaa.io; once approved they appear in the template list on the Notifications page.

Variables are filled in order. For example, order confirmations send {{1}} customer name, {{2}} order number and {{3}} shipping address.

Event Triggers

Our app listens for the following Shopify events to trigger instant WhatsApp messages:

Setting Up

Navigate to Automations > Abandoned Cart. You can configure up to 3 follow-up messages:

  • Reminder 1: 30 minutes after abandonment (Offer help).
  • Reminder 2: 12 hours after (Highlight social proof).
  • Reminder 3: 24 hours after (Offer limited-time discount).
Note: You must have the read_checkouts scope enabled in your Shopify settings for this to function.

Troubleshooting

Common Error Codes

Invalid tiwaa.io API key or secret

The key was deactivated or copied incorrectly. Create a new key in tiwaa.io under Developers and save it again in Settings.

Wallet balance low or message limit reached

Top up your tiwaa.io wallet or upgrade your tiwaa.io plan. Failed messages and the reason are listed in Reports.

Template Not Sending

Only templates with status APPROVED in your tiwaa.io account can be sent. If you renamed a template or changed its language, select it again on the Notifications page.

Legal Compliance & Opt-in

WhatsApp has strict policies regarding marketing communication.

Opt-in Methods

To send marketing messages, you must have customer consent. You can collect this via:

  • Shopify Checkout "Marketing" checkbox.
  • A dedicated opt-in widget on your product page.
  • QR codes in physical shipping boxes.
Pro-Tip: Always include an "Unsubscribe" button or keyword in your marketing templates to maintain a high quality score.
